Lunar Eclipse of 16 May 2003

In keeping with tradition, we provided a live webcast of the lunar eclipse of 16 May 2003. The weather was mostly fine for the early part of the night, so we had pictures up to totality.

The Moon entered the Earth's penumbra at 3:08 local time, first contact with the umbra (main shadow) was at 4:03, with the complete eclipse starting at 5:14. The Moon left the Earth's shadow at 6:06, but since the Moon set in Grimbergen before then, we weren't able to see this anyway, so the clouds didn't matter.

Maansverduistering van 16 Mei 2003

Naar inmiddels oude traditie verzorgden we vrijdagochtend 16 Mei proberen een live webcast van de maansverduistering. De bewolking kwam opzetten naar het einde van de nacht, maar we hebben nog beelden van de totaliteit. Aangezien de Maan onderging vóór het einde van de Maansverduistering hadden we dit toch niet kunnen uitzenden.
